2023 SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Precision Seed Production is seeking a motivated candidate to assist in providing exceptional crop care in our seed multiplication business.
Skills & Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have an agricultural background or education. The candidate should also be able to work independently and in a team atmosphere. Excellent interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication skills are highly desired. This candidate must possess a valid driver’s license. The ability to pull a trailer and operate some field equipment is desired but not required.
Primary Responsibilities:
-This paid internship will provide students with exposure to field production of hybrid seed, including canola, sunflower, and carrot.
-Work in partnership with an agronomist at Precision Growers
-Crop Scouting
-Conduct Hybrid Field Sterility Scouting & Rogueing Management
-Petiole & SAP Sampling
-GPS Field Mapping
Hours: 40+ hours/week Monday – Friday, occasional Saturday work may be requested.
Wages: $16.50+/hour. Dependent Upon Experience.
